Veda Tebbs Hale was raised in Panguitch, Utah. She graduated from BYU and taught elementary school. Though she has dabbled with painting most of her life, it wasn’t until retirement that she decided to give art a serious effort. She and her husband, Glen Hale, first build a log cabin at the Tebbs family ranch near Panguitch Lake. Now she spends most of her time painting pictures of Southern Utah. She particularly like to do scenes with red sandstone formations, such as those found in Red Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Zion Canyon, and “The Sugarloaf” above St. George. Her mentor is Rick Kinateder, artist and owner of Kinateder and Associates, an architectural rendering business in Provo, Utah. She has also had valuable help from the prize-winning local artist Wallace Lee.
